Source scenario

An advanced feature that enables a single group to have fixed and flexed portions

The source scenario in gospace acts as a base for all other scenarios that you create, which AIDRA reads allocations from and can consider when evolving test scenarios.

The primary use for the source scenario is to manage groups that have a mix of assigned and shared desks without creating separate groups. You can do this by creating allocations in the source scenario for the desks that are fixed, and then adding the unassigned desks in a test scenario.

Note: the source scenario needs to be set by the gospace team for each account that will use it.

After the source scenario is set up, you can edit it the same way you would with any other test scenario - by evolving or manual allocation.

Using the source scenario

When the source scenario feature is added to an account, you will see the additional evolve setting below: Use flex/fix ratio

This is the setting that instructs gospace to consider the source scenario when evolving.

Rules

For each group requirement, when using the source scenario AIDRA has different rules to consider.

When evolving any test scenario after setting up a source scenario and selecting flex/fix ratio:

Target

The target from the test scenario will be used.

Workpoint labels

Workpoint labels from the test scenario will be used.

Flexibility

  • Groups that are fixed or flexed in the source scenario will have that portion of the group fixed or flexed in the test scenario. In other words, the group will remain in the same location as the source scenario and the allocation will update to meet the target in the test scenario.

  • For groups that are fixed in both the source and test scenario, the source scenario allocation will be prioritised.

  • For groups that are set as free in the source scenario, AIDRA will read flexibility from the test scenario.

Frozen floors

Frozen floors in the test scenario are frozen as usual.

Manual consolidation

Workpoints will be consolidated independently of the allocation from source scenario.

Auto consolidation

Auto consolidation will respect groups that are fixed in the source or target scenarios.

Connections

Connections are read from the test scenario.
