Create scenarios

Plan and test changes to your workplace with scenarios

The editor tab in the workplace contains your active and test scenarios. Your active scenario is typically the most up-to-date and can be used to create test scenarios from. Test scenarios are where you can make updates to groups and evolve to generate new group allocations.

The active scenario is indicated by the active symbol⚡️ as shown below. Listed below the active scenario are the test scenarios for the selected building.

To make changes, you'll need to create or enter test scenario.

Create a test scenario

1. Create a copy

Click on the 3 dots next to ‘Active scenario’ and select Create from existing. This will create a new test scenario identical to the active scenario that you can work from.

You can also duplicate any of your test scenarios by selecting the test scenario and then using the same function.

2. Create a blank scenario

If you want to start from scratch with blank floorplans, use the dropdown menu and select + Create blank scenario (there will be no groups loaded, just your floorplans). ​

When creating a blank scenario, you have the option to select a people set from the people page and bring additional buildings into the scenario.

Access saved test scenarios

  • Click the scenario in the dropdown menu to enter any of your test scenarios

  • Scenarios save automatically as you make changes

  • If you are working with multiple buildings, you will need to first select the applicable buildings in order to view scenarios with more than one building in them

Edit scenario names

  • Select the scenario that you want to edit in the scenario dropdown

  • Click Edit to the right of the scenario name

Activate a scenario

  • Enter the scenario that you want to set active

  • Click the orange activate ⤴️ button in the top left corner

  • Select the groups that you would like to update the primary set with

  • Select a date from which you would like your scenario to apply - this is important if you have occupancy or attendance data in GoSpace, as you will need to have the correct team allocation on each workpoint for the recorded data

  • Click ACTIVATE

  • Your scenario will now replace the active scenario and no longer be available as a test scenario
